Kolja Strobl

Kolja grew up in Bavaria, southern Germany but moved to the UK in his early twenties to study architecture. He completed his degree in architecture at the University of Greenwich and gained his postgraduate diploma in 2001 at the University of North London (now called London Metropolitan University). Kolja is a very experienced and talented designer who worked for a number of established architectural practices before founding KSdesign in 2008. Kolja is a minimalist at heart and has developed a rich expertise in designing private residential buildings. He is passionate about modern architecture, the Bauhaus movement in particular, and building in a sustainable way.
Kolja’s keen attention to clients’ aspirations makes him enjoy long standing collaborations that have been continuing for over 10 years.

Giacomo Zanardo

Giacomo joined KSdesign in 2019 as a director, after spending 18 years working for a number of design-led practices and gaining substantial experience across a wide range of projects including residential, education and commercial developments.
He completed his degree in architecture at the University of North London (now called London Metropolitan University) where he met and collaborated with Kolja Strobl. After a year out in Italy, Giacomo returned to the University of North London where he gained his postgraduate diploma and RIBA part 3.
He is passionate about design, has a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of the use of materials that comes from his hands-on approach to every project and full involvement from feasibility through to the technical delivery of projects.
