KSdesign were instructed to redesign the first floor flat and the loft of a three storey semi-detached property situated on Alexandra Park Road, just outside the boundary of Vallance conservation area. The property also comprised a basement on lower ground floor (later converted in a self-contained three bedroom flat by KSdesign), and two separate self-contained flats on the ground and first floor.
The client was keen on contemporary design and wanted a practical open space, which led us to allow for an open plan living space and to design a new metal and glass staircase that connects the first floor to the enlarged loft area. The project also saw the addition of a new external staircase to the rear that leads to the garden of the first floor flat.
KSdesign were involved in all RIBA stages of the project including design, planning, Building Regulations and working drawings.
